Old Houses


Many old houses dot the Jamaican landscape.



Made of wood and zinc, wattle and daub and even stone, these houses are both delightful for their quaint charm and pleasing for the memories they evoke.

Now you will note, particularly in the countryside that steps are sometimes taken towards renovating old houses. I'm sure you noticed the wooden planks. Surely we wouldn't want these homes to vanish as they remind us of our rich colonial past.  In a few cases we even have reminders of old english manors.
